Fenced In

After working so long and hard doing the backyard David was slightly burned out. He has been working on the fence little by little and finally finished it this weekend. It looks great!
And it's nice to know that the kids can't get out of the backyard.
(until they figure out how to open it that is)

Better Lawn Picture

The other pictures I posted didn't really show the curves in the grass, so I risked my life balancing on the fence to take this picture.

The Masterpiece is COMPLETE!!

David's hard work has finally paid off! He is done and eager to show of his handy work. This is a long post as I mentioned, but we have to show before and after pics so that you can see just how amazing David is!!
Keep in mind that this has been a long process in deed. He started it June 12th and finished it last night, September 9th.
Prepare to be amazed!!
Here are the BEFORE photos
This is the back view of our yard from the NE corner of our lot:
(The pictures don't do it justice to show you just how sloped the dirt is. It was a HUGE pain.)

This is the view from the SE corner of the lot:

This is the view from the covered patio:
This is the view of the N side of the house
This is a picture of one of the two trees that we planted. This is a Autumn Purple Ash Maple. It will turn a pretty shade of purple then go a red color come fall.

This is the second tree. It is a Western Catalpa. It will get these big green things on it that look like giant bean pods.
This is David being goofy, knowing he is ALMOST DONE!!!

Here is my "Atlas"carrying the weight of the backyard landscaping on his shoulders:

This is the view after from the NE corner of the lot:

And this is a close up of the pathway and garden box/retaining wall that David made. We are planning on planting tomatoes, strawberries, and other veggies in there next spring. The kids are super excited that their daddy built them a little garden for them to grow things in!

David did a wonderful job! There is nothing he can't do. He put so much time, effort, skill, and love into this back yard. I am such a lucky woman!

I will post more pictures of the yard as we get more plants and vegitation put in, but that probably won't be until spring.

Yard Drama

Okay, so not really drama, but David has been working real hard on putting in our backyard. I have not posted any pictures, nor will I post ANY until the job is completely done, so if you are at all curious, you will just have to wait until the artist has finished his masterpiece!!

Main Floor Crown Molding

David keeps asking me to post pictures of the corwn molding he did.
We have molding in our entryway, the study, the half bath, and the whole main area.
He did a GREAT job!!
He will eventually put crown molding in the master bedroom, possibly the kids bedrooms, and on our kitchen cabinets.

Family Wall

This is one of the main walls in our living room.
I had to post a picture of it because I really like the way it turned out.

Mold & Paint

While the kids and I were in Utah over Easter David picked a color (Library Red) and painted our study. He also put up crown molding in there the weekend after we got back. He did such an awesome job! I can't believe how much talent he has!

It's hard to see the true paint color by a picture but it is a rust orange/red color...it's really pretty when you see it up close.

He is going to put up moulding throughout the rest of the main area. I will post pictures when he gets it done.

Add-a-Railing

David decided that since the North side of our yard wouldn't be used that much he would build a railing to line the patio. It is quite a steep drop and a railing would also prevent accidents. He built the railing to match the one that is on the front patio. He did a great job! It looks like it was built by the contractor.

Here is the front patio railing:

Virtual Tour...Delayed

So I know that last September I put a post about a virtual tour coming. I keep meaning to post it, but with the few things that we are currently doing, and the interior decorating that we have done, things keep changing inside, and I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I will though.
I just want the house to be as perfect (clean) as I can get it before I put pictures up!
I will try to do it soon!!!
