Shingles Are Going UP

They got the roof 1/2 shingled.

Unfortunately it's the side you can't see. I know what you're all thinking...why didn't we take a picture of the back side. Well we could have, but then all our pictures wouldn't be the same. And those who know me know that I just can't have that.

Doors & Shutters

As you can see, the front door and shutters are on. They should pour the driveway and shingle the roof this next week!!

Well, they got the roof on. David took another picture today, but it looks pretty much the same, so just this one picture until things change.

Framing Is Up!!

Most of the framing is done!! Man this part goes fast! The last picture was taken on Sunday (Mother's Day), so they have done this much work in just a couple days. Wow!!

About To Frame It

So we have been good at taking the pictures of the steps so far, but not at posting them as fast. Needless to say, they should start framing the house this week.

Not Quite Sure

Not quite sure exactly what this step is, but I think it's the footers for the foundation/the foundation itself. Either way they are one step closer, which is good becuase now I am sure they will fall a little behind due to all the rain we got this past weekend.

Between the two farthest orange things is our lot. We are the 4th house south of the corner of Austin and Mircos. They are supposed to dig in the next day or two!! Yeah!!!

Information

For those of you who don't know already, we decided to purchase our first home. We feel fortunate that we were able to find one that we could have built for a really great price! The construction will start anyday, and should be completed by the end of August, hopefully sooner, but we all know how it goes.

We are real excited!! We got to go to the design center and pick out all of our finishes and appliances. It was fun but stressful!! We want nice things, but wanted to keep the overall cost of the home within our budget. One could easily send a lot of money there!!

Below is a picture of the house elevation as well as the floorplan. It will fit our family perfect. It is a Ranch style home (which for those who don't know, means everything is on othe same level).It has 3 bedrooms plus a study, 2 1/2 baths with an unfinished basement and a 2 car garage.
